Digital News Federation (DNF) - an exclusive organization, is a division within NBF, that works to uphold editorial freedom and ensure the business interests of online news platforms. DNF is instrumental in promoting responsible, ethical, and high-quality journalism in the digital age while safeguarding the interests and rights of digital news professionals and organizations.

About NBF-PNBSA

NBF -PNBSA is the only formally-recognised and officially registered Level-II Self-Regulatory for TV News Channels as per Rule 18 of the CTN (Amendment Rules 2021) and Digital News Platforms as per Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

NBF-Professional News Broadcasting Standards Authority (NBF-PNBSA), oversees fair reporting by its member companies. The vision of the NBF-PNBSA is to establish a trusted, thriving, free and responsible press, reinforced by independent and effective regulation.

WHAT IS NBF ?

News Broadcasters Federation (NBF) is the largest association of news broadcasters across India representing combined interests and perspectives on crucial matters related to the news broadcasting industry.

WHY IS NBF FORMED?

NBF is formed to promote, aid, help, and encourage the news broadcast industry by taking effective steps to represent linear, non-linear, and digital broadcast companies and associated companies/ sectors/ industries and to conduct educational/ awareness programs to enhance the business of news broadcasting.

WHAT DOES NBF AIMS TO DO?

The News Broadcasters Federation will ensure and act as a unified voice of the industry and will carry on advocacy and outreach work to ensure the government and other stakeholders involve NBF in every policy/ regulatory issue that directly/ indirectly impacts the industry. None of the main objects should be carried out on a commercial basis.

HOW DOES NBF WORK?

Arnab Goswami, Editor-In-Chief and Managing Director of Republic TV, is the current Founding-President. The five vice-presidents are — Jagi Mangat Panda of OTV; Shankar Bala of Fourth Dimension Media; Sanjive Narain, Chair and Managing Director of Prag News, Kartikeya Sharma of ITV Network, and Barun Das of TV9 Network. The NBF’s executive office is based in Delhi and run by the Secretary-General, R. Jai Krishna.
